Featuring Hal's Bayou Jazz Band, Ben Mauger's Vintage Jazz Band, and Jim Ritter's All Stars
Picnic Line-up!
Note: There has been a switch in the order of bands since Tailgate went to press. The NEW order is listed below for the Saturday PRJC Picnic.
Jim Ritter's Creole Gumbo Jazz Band
playing from 12-2
Jim Ritter, local favorite from his days as co-leader
and cornet player with the Buck Creek Jazz Band,
now plays the third Saturday of every month in North
Beach, MD at the Westlawn Inn with his Creole
Gumbo Jazz Band. Other members of the band include
Rick Rowe, banjo and guitar, Ben Redwine,
reeds, and Tom Holtz, tuba. The band will be expanded
for its appearance at the PRJC picnic.
Ben Mauger's Vintage Jazz Band playing from 2-4
The Vintage Jazz Band is lead by Harrisburg
area cornet / trumpet man Ben Mauger and features
some of the finest Traditional Jazz Players from the
Keystone state. The band plays the Hot Jazz from the
early Jazz age, Dixieland Jazz favorites, as well as
some NY style traditional Jazz swing. Ben is a known
musician in our area from his guest appearances at
our PRJC monthly jam session, where he has played
both as a jammer, and as a substitute for Dave Robinson
with the house band.
Hal's Bayou Jazz Band playing from 4-62
A local area favorite 7 piece band playing the music
of King Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, Satchmo and
Bix. Led by piano man Sig Seidenman of Baltimore
they are always crowd pleasers with their personable
approach to our kind of music.
